Number of real estate transactions in Estonia fell by 30% in 2008

Print versionThe number of real estate transactions in Estonia completed in 2008 was by 30% smaller than in 2007, writes EPL Online/LETA.

According to the Land Board"s 2008 overview of the real estate market, a total of 50,584 real estate transactions were carried out in Estonia. The total value of all transactions was 39.85 billion kroons.
A total of 34,434 purchase and sales transactions were carried out – 30% less than a year before and 44% less than in 2006. The latter year was the most active in terms of volume of transactions.
A total of 110,272 hectares of land changed owners in 2008.
