President will be able to return to Riga Castle in November 2015

Print versionThe president and the Presidential Chancery will be able to return to work at Riga Castle sometime next year, most likely in November, the head of the Riga Castle Restoration Council Imants Lancmanis told LETA.

He said that even the restoration works at the castle are ''not even close'' to being finished, they are moving forward as expected and work is being completed in time.
''We are seeing work at the castle speed up recently. If before we had about 140 persons working on the restoration of the castle, now there are over 200 persons working on the castle, and this number is only expected to increase,'' Lancmanis explained, while at the same time expressing satisfaction that the restoration work is not being rushed, as quality is of the utmost importance.
Lancmanis also said that work carried out on drying out the castle has been completed, and that there are no more concerns about any kind of water damage
