Estonian real estate fund EfTEN Capital has increased its Latvian real estate portfolio by acquiring Nordic Technology Park in Sampeteris (western Riga) – a complex of office and industrial buildings of 45,000 square meters in area, and a production facility at 15/25 Jurkalnes Street in Riga for a total of EUR 20 million, EfTEN Capital spokeswoman Renata Kaupasa informed the business portal Nozare.lv, ciets LETA.

This is EfTEN Capital's fourth, and the largest one, acquisition in Latvia, Kaupasa said.

Nordic Technology Park premises are used by 68 different local and foreign companies with almost 800 employees. Nordic Technology Park clients mainly specialize in woodworking, furniture manufacturing, printing, tailoring and other industries.

According to EfTEN Capital board member Viktors Savins, this kind of property has the most steady demand. The premises are well-managed, while the particular real estate is one of the best objects Savins has seen in his experience.

The EfTEN Capital head Viljar Arakas indicated that this has been the largest investment by EfTEN Capital in Latvia. EfTEN Capital plans to increase its investments in Latvia, taking into account the company's economic prospects and the fact that Latvia has become the 18th European Union member state to join the eurzone, Arakas stressed.

EfTEN entered Latvia's market in March 2013, when EfTEN Kinnisvarafond bought real estate in Jelgava to lease it to the supermarket chain Rimi.
