European millions allocated to restoration of synagogue in Lithuania

A financing agreement of synagogue restoration project in Pakruojis, Lithuania, was signed. Almost LTL 2.6 million (EUR 753,000) will be allocated from of the EEA and Norwegian Financial Mechanism Funds, informs LETA/ELTA.

The implementation of the project of the restoration of Pakruojis Jewish synagogue and its adaptation for cultural and public purposes is planned to begin this July and to be completed in April 2016.

 

The synagogue built two hundred years ago is one of the oldest and most valuable wooden buildings in Europe, says Siauliu Krastas daily.
