It is planned to build a sports complex worth some EUR 15 million in the Adazi army base in central Latvia for use by the Latvian soldiers as well as allied troops deployed to Adazi, informs LETA.

The Latvian Defense Ministry tender for developing the construction designs of the new sports complex ended in early August, and Nams company was selected as the winner of the EUR 235,950 contract, the ministry said.

The tender for construction of the sports complex has not yet been announced.

According to the estimates by the design developer Nams, the financing required for implementation of the project is around EUR 15 million (VAT included).

The completion date of the sports complex will depend on the progress in organization of the construction tender and the actual construction process.

The new sports complex will have a great variety of indoor and outdoor facilities for different sports activities, including a handball court and two basketball courts, three workout gyms, a rock climbing wall, a boxing room, a track-and-field stadium, two tennis courts, three streetball courts and four beach volleyball courts.
