Riga city architects want renewed debate on Occupation Museum

BC, Riga, 03.09.2015.Print version
The senior architects sitting on the panel in Riga Town Hall, following lively discussion yesterday, want the debate reopened on the quality of the modern annex for the Occupation of Latvia Museum and whether it matches Old Town's existing buildings, reports LETA.

The panel motioned on September 2nd for a "much-needed professional discussion on the possibility of a solution in the matter of the Occupation Museum's annex."

The panel wants the project, already stalled for years, reconsidered. This despite protests from the Museum's staff and officials from the State Real Estate Agency who pointed to skyrocketing costs if there are any additional delays.

The construction schedule for the annex had work getting under way this month, lasting an estimated 14 months.
