The newly-elected Latvian president Raimonds Vejonis (Greens/Farmers) could use the presidential residence in Jurmala for organizing important meetings, reports LETA.

Vejonis said in an interview with the LTV show "Rita Panorama" this morning that he has no plan to live in the presidential residence, but will consider using it for important meetings.

"The location of the residence is good, it has a peaceful atmosphere near the Baltic Sea for discussing important matters," said Vejonis.

Vejonis said in an interview with the Latvian Radio show "Krustpunkta" that he wishes to keep residing in his current apartment in Ogre, as well as to continue communicating on his "Twitter" profile.

"I expect numerous problems, as they [security officials] will be very unsatisfied with this situation," said Vejonis, adding that the apartment can be provided with security.
