The insurance company Gjensidige Baltic has decided to pay an insurance indemnity to Riga Circus in the amount of EUR 7,200 for the losses it suffered during the recent fire, Gjensidige Baltic announced, cites LETA.

According to the insurance policy terms, the circus building was covered by a 90% under-insurance, which stipulates an indemnity in the amount of 10% of the total losses.

The total net losses amounted to EUR 73,501.41, thus, the calculated indemnity is EUR 7,350.14.

Because the insurance policy stipulated a deductible in the amount of EUR 150, the total indemnity will be EUR 7,200.14, which will be paid to the Riga Circus after all the respective documents are signed with the Culture Ministry.

As reported, the Riga Circus has calculated the amount of losses caused by the recent fire, estimating up to EUR 35,000, the circus' manager Lolita Lipinska informed LETA.

As reported, black smoke enveloped one end of Alfreda Kalnina Street in downtown Riga on March 19 as a fire of unknown origin hit the Riga Circus complex.
