Gusakov: acquisition of Kemeri Sanatorium was done in another investor's interests

BC, Riga, 06.03.2015.Print version
The acquisition of Kemeri Sanatorium was not in the interests of the Russian citizen Alexander Gusakov, but in someone else's interest, reports LETA, according to the portal Meduza.

Gusakov told Meduza that he signed the EUR 3 million deal in the interests of some other "Russian-speaking investor".

Gusakov declined to reveal the investor's name, adding that the said investor was not necessarily a citizen of Russia.

He also said that the new owner of Kemeri Sanatorium plans to invest about EUR 17 million in the complex, whereas the Jurmala City Council's contribution will amount to about EUR 20 million.

"The construction work at the sanatorium will last for another two-and-a-half years," Gusakov said.

Meduza also learned from Gusakov that he is not concerned about the current tensions between the European Union (EU) and Russia due to which a number of Russian citizens have been banned from traveling to the EU.

"A lot can change while the restoration work is still in progress. The war will end, fighting will stop, and Russian tourists will once again return to the most "Russian" country in Europe," Gusakov told Meduza.
