Lithuania media start euro coverage projects

BC, Vilnius, 29.09.2014.Print version
As of September, twelve TV, radio and Internet projects are providing latest euro-related updates for everyone who is going to plan their expenses and income in euros as of 1 January, 2015, reports LETA/ELTA.

Up until February of 2015, projects will be running on three national TV channels (LTV, LNK and TV3), four radio stations (Ziniu Radijas, Lietuvos Radijas, Pukas and M1) and three web portals (delfi.lt, 15 min.lt, balsas.lt). They aim to ensure access for most people in Lithuania to the information they are concerned with: what changes are ahead of them after the euro is introduced, expert advice on how to avoid problems when it comes to managing personal finances, and issues that individuals and businesses find important in relation to the upcoming euro, euro.lt said.

Every Thursday on LTV, 2 to 3 minute-long stories on the introduction of the euro are provided right after Panorama news (20:40), while on LNK spectators can watch 5 to 7-minute information coverage (from 16:30) as part of the TV show Labas Vakaras, Lietuva (Good evening, Lithuania), also on Thursdays, which explains to individuals and businesses how they should prepare for the introduction of the euro in the country and avoid potential problems. On Fridays (at 18:15), TV3 broadcasts 10 to 15-minute shows, which offer young people's view of the importance of introducing the euro in Lithuania.

The Ministry of Finance also informs that more efficient communication and public readiness for the introduction of the euro are also sought through a campaign on the radio and Internet portals, euro.lt reports.
