After Monday's meeting with Minister of Agriculture Virginija Baltraitiene, Minister of Economy Evaldas Gustas, deputy ministers of finance, foreign affairs, social security and labour, the head of the Seimas also said she had no information regarding possible redundancies.

"We have discussed the possible effects on the social area, working conditions, retaining of jobs. It is important that the industrial sector would retain jobs as to create new jobs and to train employees cost much as well. We have asked the ministries to assess their possibilities, to take a regional approach, how much districts could be affected and what would be the possibilities for providing one or another kind of assistance to companies," said Grauziniene after the meeting.

The parliament speaker said that in the short run she planned to meet with Minister of Agriculture Virginija Baltraitiene.

According to Grauziniene, on Wednesday a meeting with Prime Minister Algirdas Butkevicius has been planned.
