BC, Tallinn, 08.07.2014.Print version
Last week, the Government decided to set up an Estonian eHealth Task Force with the goal of developing a strategic plan for eHealth until the year 2020, reports LETA, referring to the Government Office.

The new task force would work within the Government Office.

“Estonia has achieved a lot in the area of eHealth in comparison with most of Europe and countries across the world; however, the introduction of many proposed eHealth solutions is still uncompleted,” said Siim Sikkut, Advisor to the Strategy Office of the Government Office. “There has been rapid technological development in the field of health, for example in telemedicine, and Estonia needs to accelerate the pace of implementation of innovative solutions,” he added.

The Task Force for Forming the Estonian eHealth National Strategy will have a role of developing the Estonian eHealth Strategic Development Plan until the year 2020, along with development operations, a financing plan and a detailed implementation plan for the years 2015-2017. The task force’s mandate is until November 2015.
