Waste management company Ragn-Sells SIA bought VKB Serviss, leading Latvian company collecting hazardous waste, writes LETA/Postimees Online.

The total cost of the transaction was 1.7 million euros.

“For us, this was a significant transaction, we are viewing this in a wider context than just Latvia; it will help improve Ragn-Sells’ competence in the entire region,” said the CEO of Ragn-Sells AS Rain Vääna.

“I believe that in our region, VKB is among the best in terms of technical equipment and know-how collections for collecting hazardous waste, maintaining and cleaning large container parks as well as diagnostics and cleaning of pipe networks,” he added.

Vääna pointed out that Ragn-Sells will focus on securing its position on the market of handling hazardous waste during the next few years and acquisition of VKB was one of the tactical steps in this direction.

Ragn-Sells AS is an Estonian subsidiary of the Swedish family company Ragn-Sells företagen AB. It employs a total of 270 persons.
