Liepajas metalurgs production equipment in good shape

Print versionOn June 6th, the testing process of Liepajas metalurgs production equipment was successfully concluded. After several years of work stoppage and the winter period, the electric steel melting furnace and rolling-mill were activated in order to test their functionality, informs LETA/Nozare.lv.

The conclusions indicate that the production equipment is in good shape, the insolvency administrator of Liepajas metalurgs, Haralds Velmers informed the business portal Nozare.lv.
On June 5th, as part of the testing process, production was carried out at the rolling-mill.
As expected, 133 semi-finished casting products were milled, weighing 90 tons in total.
The electric steel melting furnace was tested on June 6th. During the process, 100 tons of steel scrap were melted down, producing 129 semi-finished casting products.
