Estonian government to take 172 mln euros of dividends from state-owned companies

The Estonian government approved of a bill at its Thursday session, according to which the state-owned companies and companies in which the state has at least decision-making rights, will have to pay nearly 172 mn euros of dividends to the state budget in 2014, LETA/Äripäev.ee reports.

Due to the improved financial results of companies, the total sum of dividends increases by 73.5 mln euros as compared to last year. The biggest dividend payers are Eesti Energia AS, Tallinna Sadam AS and Eesti Loto AS.

 

The growth in dividend payments will come mainly from three companies: the dividends to be paid by Eesti Energia AS grow from 55 million euros last year to 113.6 million euros this year; the dividends of Tallinna Sadam will grow from 25.6 million to 42 million euros and the dividends of AS Eesti Loto grow from 4.9 mln euros to 6.3 milliohm euros.

 

Dividends will be paid also by Lennuliiklusteeninduse AS, AS Eesti Raudtee, AS Eesti Loots, AS EVR Cargo, AS Eesti Post, AS Eesti Teed, AS Teede Tehnokeskus, OÜ Keskkonnauuringute Keskus.

 

Altogether dividends are paid by 11 companies.

 

The state has a stake in 32 companies, of which 27 the state is the sole owner or has decision-making rights.
