Latvia interested in activating cooperation in education and medicine with the UAE

On March 19th, Prime Minister Laimdota Straujuma, during the meeting with Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), emphasized that Latvia is interested in promoting further the economic cooperation between the two countries, especially in the fields of education, medicine and air traffic, LETA was informed by the State Chancellery's communications department.

The officials expressed satisfaction over increasing intensity of bilateral relations recently and shared the same opinion that opening of the embassy of Latvia in Abu Dhabi in the first half of 2014 would provide additional impetus for closer contacts.

 

The foreign minister of the UAE stressed that the cooperation in the field of small and medium sized business and tourism could also be a good area of cooperation.

 

At the conclusion of the meeting, Straujuma invited Al Nahyan to the high-level conference in the field of transportation to be held on June 3-4, 2014 in Riga.
