Premia ice-creams can be bought with mobile phones in Estonia

BC, Tallinn, 02.07.2013.Print version
In partnership with EMT, Elisa and Tele2, Premia launched a pilot project whereby payments in buying ice-cream on two public beaches in Tallinn can be made with mobile phones, writes LETA/Postimees Online.

The solution arose from the fact that many of the beachgoers do not carry any cash when going swimming or sun-bathing. There is also no need to conclude any separate mobile payments contracts with the banks, as the amount paid with mobile phones will be reflected on the next month’s phone bill.

The pilot project involves two Premia ice-cream kiosks on the Stroomi Beach and one on the Pikakari Beach. If the pilot project will turn out to be successful, Premia will extend the m-payments functionality to other summer season sales points as well and will offer the opportunity to take part in the project to all clients and distributors.
