Olainfarm acquires controlling stake in Silvanols

The Latvian pharmaceuticals company Olainfarm yesterday acquired controlling interest in Latvian natural herbal products producer Silvanols, according to "Firmas.lv" data. As of June 3rd, Olainfarm owns 70.88% of Silvanols shares. Before that, Olainfarm had a 47.51% stake in Silvanols, reports LETA/Nozare.lv.

Silvanols co-owner Ieva Leimane's stake in the company has reduced from 23.41% to 15.41%, Agris Auce's stake from 23.41% to 10.39%, whereas Sandra Ivanova still holds 3.31% of Silvanols shares. Peteris Snepsts, who until now owned 2.35% of Silvanols shares, is no longer on the list of the company's shareholders.

 

As reported, Olainfarm bought 47.5% of shares in Silvanols at the end of April.

 

Olainfarm said it expected to acquire another 20% or more Silvanols shares in the nearest future. This acquisition will allow both companies to expand their product groups and portfolio and enter and expand into new markets, Olainfarm said.

 

Silvanols CEO Viesturs Gurtlavs emphasizes that "changes that have occurred to list of company's shareholders will facilitate inflow of new knowledge and experience into Silvanols which will be yet another boost for competitiveness of the company internationally and domestically."

 

Sales of Silvanols in 2012 totaled LVL 1.993 million and the company made a net profit of LVL 136,000.

 

Consolidated profit and loss statement of Olainfarm for 2012 shows that the concern has set yet another profit record as it has made a net profit of LVL 9.75 million. This represents an increase by 41% compared to 2011, when profit of Olainfarm was LVL 6.91 million.
