The British steel trading company Stemcor is also among those interested in Liepajas osta LM.
Dienas Bizness points out that Liepajas metalurgs has agreed with Stemcor on debt repayment, pledging Liepajas osta LM shares as security. According to the loan repayment schedule, Liepajas metalurgs must repay LVL 2.1 million to Stemcor this year.
Liepajas metalurgs shareholder Kirovs Lipmans points out in an interview with Dienas Bizness that Stemcor is rather interested in the port than in manufacturing. Another shareholder – Sergejs Zaharjins – has admitted that access to the Port of Liepaja and free customs zones are the main investor attractions.
Liepajas osta LM was established in 1993. Liepajas metalurgs is its main shareholder.
