Liepajas metalurgs must still repay LVL 47.41 mln to UniCredit

Print versionThe financially-troubled joint-stock metallurgical company Liepajas metalurgs must still repay EUR 67,465,055.88 (LVL 47,414,711.13) to the Italian bank UniCredit S.p.A, the State Treasury's press secretary Ieva Dzelme informed LETA/Nozare.lv.

The next loan payment must be made on October 30. The company must cover the basic amount of the bank's loan – EUR 6,128,456.37 (LVL 4,307,103.65) – and its interest due – EUR 1,684,528.69 (LVL 1,183,893.5).
The state in 2009 guaranteed the obligations of Liepajas metalurgs to UniCredit Bank in the amount of 85.6 million euros (60 million lats). The loan was needed for the modernizarion.
