Estonian Veterinary and Food board confirmed on Monday that suspicious goods connected to companies that are involved in the horsemeat scandal haven’t reached Estonia, LETA/Public Broadcasting reports.

French retail chains withdrew from sales products of food industry companies Findus and Comige. Earlier the beef lasagne of these companies, where it was ascertained that horsemeat had been added, had been withdrawn in UK and Sweden. It has been warned that these goods can be found in other European states.

"No, according to official data, these goods have not been imported to the Estonian market," said Veterinary and Food Board director general Ago Pärtel. "The states whose entrepreneurs forged these food products must draw conclusions and conduct more serious checkups," said Pärtel.
