Finance Minister Andris Vilks (Unity) previously objected to the hospital's request. The hospital must prove that the requested amount is justified, emphasized the minister.
But the government decided today to allocate the sum, to help stabilize the hospital's financial situation, writes LETA.
As reported, the Pauls Stradins Clinical University Hospital sees significant improvement in its finances. However, the hospital is still in need of LVL 10 million state support. Its infrastructure, premises and technologies continue growing out-of-date and the funds are needed to introduce new treatment methods and technologies.
