The Public Prosecutor’s Office is investigating an alleged cartel agreement in the alcohol sector where the suspects are retail chains of Rimi and that owned by Oleg Gross as well as alcohol producer AS Liviko, writes Postimees.

According to the information available to the daily newspaper, the Central Criminal Police searched the offices of Liviko in June. It has been rumoured that initiative for launching an investigation came from the Competition Board, reported LETA.

Liviko’s CEO Janek Kalvi noted in the company’s press release issued on Wednesday that Liviko is not suspected of having concluded a preferential pricing agreement with two retail chains. “Liviko has been declared a suspect of having provided moral aid to a competition infringement and will take time to study the relevant materials. We will help the investigation in every way and will stand for our good name,” said Kalvi.
