Viisnurk posts a loss in Q1

Estonian wood and furniture company Viisnurk said that its consolidated net loss amounted to 173,000 euros in the first quarter of this year, compared to net profit of 102,000 euros in the first quarter of 2011.

The consolidated net sales of the first quarter 2012 was 4.6 million euros (4.0 million euros in same period of 2011) representing a 13% increase on the first quarter compared to Q1 2011, the company told Tallinn bourse. At the same time, consolidated EBITDA decreased from 275,000 euros in first quarter 2011 to 147,000 euros in first quarter 2012, writes LETA.

 

The relatively weak result of the first quarter was expected and the management estimated that in the report of the fourth quarter. The sales growth came basically from the sales of natural softboards products of Püssi factory and from Skano retail chain, which grew 30% compared to the same period last year.
