Akmenes Cementas installed health and safety management system OHSAS

Akmenes Cementas, one of the biggest Lithuanian industrial companies, has installed the occupational health and safety management system OHSAS 18001:2007.

Swedish technical research institute presented to the company the certificate confirming the installation. "Our company has always paid a lot of attention to the improvement of working conditions to avoid harming the health or threaten the life of employees. The certificate just proves the continuation of this policy," Akmenes Cementas CEO Arturas Zaremba said.

 

According to him, the new system will increase the safety of employees by indicating the existing and probable circumstances and actions, which might affect the health and endanger the life of the employees, and by evaluating their risk and implementing the measures of risk management. OHSAS is an international occupational health and safety management system specification, the object of which is to eliminate or decrease the risks related to the activities of company by gradual implementation of the occupational health and safety policy.
