Pieno Zvaigzdes earned gross profit 45.661 mln litas in H1

Pieno Zvaigzdes operating profit before finance costs decreased from 13.126 million litas down to 824,000 litas in a year.
The company's pre-tax loss totaled 711,000 litas in the first six months of the year.
The enterprise's financial statements have been prepared in accordance with international financial reporting standards (IFRS).
Pieno Zvaigzdes sales to foreign countries have decreased slightly in the first half of the year – from 156.284 million litas in January-June 2009 to 149.034 million litas in the corresponding period of this year. Main export market of the milk company in the first half of the year was Russia, the total amount of Pieno Zvaigzdes products, sold to this market, was 53.057 million litas in the firs half. down on 57.889 million litas registered in the corresponding period last year, reports LETA/ELTA.
The enterprise was formed by the way of merger of the following enterprises – Mazeikiu Pienine, Pasvalio Surine, Kauno Pienas and Panevezio Pienas.
Pieno Zvaigzdes is engaged in production and sales of milk to retail shops in direct way or via distributors.
The enterprise's main office is located in Vilnius, and subsidiaries – in Mazeikiai, Pasvalys, Kaunas, Panevezys.
The company's shares are traded on the NASDAQ OMX Vilnius.
