Alita sales fell by 31% in 2009

Consolidated sales revenue of Lithuania-based group of companies Alita in 2009 amounted to 139.9 million litas, which is by 31% less in comparison with 2008, Alita reported to NASDAQ OMX Vilnius.

Group's consolidated net result for the year 2009 amounted 14.5 million litas loss. The result for the year 2008 was 15.3 million litas in loss, writes LETA/ELTA.

 

The group's performance was influenced mainly by very unfavourable tax environment on the market in which the group companies are operating and the overall sharp decline in domestic consumption. In order to optimize the activities of Company group ALITA AB, operating expenses have been decreased by 32 million litas, or 44% in 2009.

 

The debt structure has changed during the year 2009. Short term liabilities of Alita decreased from 115.9 million litas in 2008 to 90.2 million litas in 2009, and the amount of long term liabilities rose from 27.8 million litas in 2008 to 37.3 million litas in 2009.

 

Total amount of liabilities decreased from 143.7 million litas to 127.5 million litas on a year-to-year basis.
