Tele2 Eesti earned 493 mln kroons of net profit in 2009

Print versionEstonia’s second-largest cell phone operator Tele2 announced that it earned 493 mln kroons of net profit in 2009, a fall of 8% as compared to 2008, LETA/Äripäev.ee reports.

Tele2 board chairman Toomas Tiivel said that considering the general economic situation, the company can be satisfied with the result. “The most important thing today is that clients come to us because we have the best offer,” said Tiivel, adding that thanks to that, it has gained over 20,000 clients in two years from competitors. The 2009 phone number change net result was 9,500 clients.
Tele2 Eesti turnover in 2009 was 1.57 bln kroons, a fall of 11% from 2008 as sale of phones and computers fell while mobile internet revenues grew by over 30%.
Tele2 market share in December 2009 was 33%.
