The manager of Tallinn Landfill Allan Pohlak confirmed that the starting of waste fuel manufacturing will not trigger the raise in price of garbage collecting in Tallinn. On the contrary- if the amounts increase then the prices might even go down.

The prices will not raise also because of the amount of wastes in Estonia's landfills decreased to more than a quarter.

"We do not work on the principle that the more commodity, the lower the price," said Pohlak.

According to Pohlak, on February 16, 2010, all appliances will be working and the manufacturing will start bot the first loads of fuel will be available in March. The fuel will firstly be sold to Latvian cement factory. The entrepreneurs also negotiated with Kunda factory, but they did not come to an agreement in prices.

"When we get a deal with Kunda and sign all agreements then of course we will sell our products to them too. Väo energy station could also use our production, right now they use chopped wood," Pohlaknoted.

Garbage at the plant will not be burned, but it will be sorted first and some of the waste will be reused.

Tallinn Landfill initially will take in 40,000 tons of garbage per year and about 20,000 tons of fuel will be manufactured from that. When marked grows, the production might be doubled in the next few years which employs additional investment. So far Veolia in cooperation with Tallinn Landfill have invested about 30 000 million kroons.
