EUR 600,000 to be allocated in support to NGOs during Covid-19 crisis

EUR 600,000 will be allocated in support to NGOs during the Covid-19 crisis, as agreed by the work group for support to business and employees, headed by Finance Minister Janis Reirs (New Unity, informed LETA.
The proposal has been prepared by the Culture Ministry, but the final decision will be made by the Cabinet of Ministers.
Support will be provided to initiatives and activities that have already been launched and will be continued.
Support will be ensured to remuneration of staff and related tax payments, insurance, purchase of equipment and materials, purchase of protective equipment, digitalization of services, rent and utilities.
Those NGOs will be entitled to the support that provide services necessary for the society that the state and local governments do not provide or provide insufficiently.
