BC, Tallinn, 27.08.2020.Print version
Telia lost the biggest number of telephone numbers to other mobile telephony service providers in Estonia for the fifth month in a row in July, seeing 970 numbers leave its network during the month, LETA/BNS informed.

Also Tele2 saw negative net migration in its network, losing 123 numbers during the month. Elisa meanwhile registered a positive balance of 1,097 phone numbers, it appears from data made  available by the Consumer Protection and Technical Regulatory Authority.

During the first seven moths of the year, Telia lost 4,223 mobile telephone numbers and Tele2 lost 1,608 numbers. Elisa on the other hand saw 5,818 numbers join its network.

In total, 5,470 mobile telephone numbers and 169 landline telephone numbers migrated in Estonia  in July 2020. Of the applications, 4,207 applications for the migration of a mobile telephone number and 71 applications for the migration of a landline telephone number were revoked.

The biggest loser in phone number portability in 2019 was Tele2, which saw 7,976 phone numbers leave its network. Elisa gained 5,060 numbers and Telia gained 2,919 numbers.

Number portability figures reflect the movement of real mobile and landline numbers from one operator to another but are not directly connected with the total number of customers who sign up with or leave a service provider as one customer can have several numbers under one contract. The figures do not reflect changes in the overall number of a company's clients.
