Turnover of Latvia's Diana Sveces drops 11% in 2019

Latvia's Diana Sveces candle maker closed 2019 with EUR 10.48 million in annual turnover, down 11% from a year before, while its profit contracted 37.5% to EUR 336,903, writes LETA, according to the company's report available at Firmas.lv.

The company's management said in the report that the year 2019 was stable for Diana Sveces. Candle sales declined by EUR 1.304 million or 12.4% on year due to the loss of one client in Germany. 


At the same time, Diana Sveces concluded new agreements with clients in Germany. In 2019, the company's turnover in the German market dropped by 8.6 percentage points to 24.3% of total turnover. In the Danish market, the company's turnover grew 5.1%age points to 57.6% of total turnover. Turnover in the domestic market was down EUR 101,593 or 10.6% to 9.1% of total turnover. 


The candle maker's annual profit decreased by EUR 202,146 on year, with employees' wages accounting for the biggest expenditure item. 


According to information from Firmas.lv, Diana Sveces turned over EUR 11.784 million in 2018, up 7.7% against a year before, and the company's profit grew 8.2% on year to EUR 539,049. 


Diana Sveces, established in 2003, belongs in equal parts to four Danish companies: Joergen Olesen Holding, Lars Olesen Holding, Jesper Olesen Holding and Dream Invest.
