9 Estonian companies announce lay-off of 256 employees last week
Altogether nine establishments have announce collective redundancies, four of which are linked to Narva-based German entrepreneur Miroslaw Pienkowski, whose companies specialize in the manufacture of titanium medical products. According to information provided to the Unemployment Insurance Fund, Pienkowski's companies are to lay off altogether 157 workers.
Of Pienkowski's companies, MP & Partners Engineering OU is to lay off 72 employees, OU Micro-fix 66 employees, OU PM-Titanium 14 employees and OU TMT-Fasteners five employees.
Regional Jet, a subsidiary of Estonian state-owned aviation company Nordica, has announced the lay-off of 27 employees.
Arturi Koogid OU, a catering operator active in Parnu, is to lay off 39 workers.
Ojala Estonia OU, which manufactures metal products in Tabasalu, is to make altogether 13 employees redundant.
Tallinn-based beauty salon OU Sinine Salong is to lay off 15 employees.
Construction company OU EhitusEST, which operates in the small town of Kaardi, is to make five workers redundant.
