BC, Tallinn, 28.06.2018.Print version
Enterprise Estonia (EAS) in the next five years will focus on three main directions -- export, foreign investments coming to Estonia and increasing tourism income, Minister of Entrepreneurship and Information Technology Urve Palo said at the government's press conference on June 28th, cites LETA/BNS.

One of the greatest changes at that is that Enterprise Estonia from this fall onward will no longer be dealing with activities concerning regional support and this will be handed over to the support structure center.

Palo said that Enterprise Estonia will now have specific target levels the foundation is aiming to reach within five years. For example, according to the supervisory board of EAS, it is necessary to double the number of added value exporting companies in Estonia. In addition, it is necessary with the support of a 1.5 billion euro foreign investment to create 5,000 jobs with added value within five years. The wish at that is to reach a 400 million euro foreign investment volume per year.

When it comes to tourism, the wish is to focus on business tourists, who according to Palo leave behind three times as much money in Estonia as regular tourists.

The corresponding decisions and objectives were approved by the supervisory board of EAS on Wednesday.
