Lithuanian restaurants gladly hire foreigners
BC, Vilnius, 09.08.2017.Print version
Lithuania's largest restaurant owners gladly hire foreigners and intend to continue the practice, regardless of major bureaucratic challenges, Verslo Zinios business daily said, cites LETA/BNS.
"We will not stop at a hundred, we have ambitious development plans
that will require production staff – cooks. There is no supply that we need in
Lithuania, therefore, hiring foreigners is the only way of solving the problem
of personnel shortcoming," the daily cited Donatas Vaitasius, CEO at Cili Pica restaurant chain, as saying.
Meanwhile, Gediminas Balnis, CEO
of another market player Amber Food,
said the company had just started a one-year pilot project to hire foreigners
and would employ more, if the system works out well.
