Tax rates on gambling machines, gaming tables to be raised by 30% in Latvia

In 2018, tax rates on gambling machines and gaming tables in Latvia will be raised by 30%, according to the legislative amendments sent to the Saeima committees for revision and included in the tax reform package, cites LETA.

The amendments provide that tax rate on roulette and gaming tables will grow from EUR 18,000 to EUR 23,400 a year, and tax rate on video games and gambling machines will grow from EUR 3,204 to EUR 4,164 a year.

 

The Finance Ministry said that the amendments will refer to 13 active gambling operators in Latvia.

 

The amendments will ensure additional revenues worth EUR 8.25 million in 2018, and EUR 9 million in the coming two years.
