Estonian consumer authority has Crazydeal website closed

BC, Tallinn, 20.03.2017.Print version
The Estonian Consumer Protection Authority has decided to restrict access to the website of Crazydeal Group OU because Crazydeal Group has failed to deliver the goods ordered by many customers via its website, has not refunded the payments made and has failed to meet other obligations placed on it by the Consumer Protection Authority, writes LETA/BNS.

After Crazydeal Group had not complied with an order of the Consumer Protection Authority to put an end to the use of unfair commercial practices, the consumer authority imposed a penalty on the company. Crazydeal Group did not respond and did not fulfill the obligations placed on it by the precept issued by the Consumer Protection Authority. As a result, the consumer authority had to restrict access to the website for third persons in order to make sure that violation of the law was discontinued.

In addition, the Consumer Protection Authority has initiated a misdemeanor proceeding with regard to Crazydeal Group over the use of unfair commercial practices and filed a report of alleged wrongful action by the managers of the company with the Police and Border Guard Board.

A total of 703 customers have approached the Consumer Protection Authority by now complaining of Crazydeal's failure to fulfill its obligations to them.
