Joona Saluveer picked for new CEO of Eesti Post

The supervisory board of Eesti Post, the Estonian postal services and logistics company operating under the Omniva brand, elected on Thursday Joona Saluveer the next chief executive of the company, reports LETA/BNS.

Saluveer will take up the appointment in May after the expiry of incumbent Aavo Karmas' contract.


Under Karmas' direction Eesti Post became a strong international company of whose potential the new leader will be able to make the most, chairman of the supervisory board Merike Saks said, thanking the outgoing CEO for his contribution.


Saluveer has been at the head of Omniva's Latvian business since 2012. Prior to that he worked as chief of several Estonian companies' Lithuanian operations, among them Prike and Stokker. He holds a master's degree in strategic business administration from the University of Tartu as well as a bachelor's degree from the Stockholm School of Economics in Riga.


Eesti Post announced a public competition to fill the position of chairman of the management board in connection with the expiry of Karmas' contract on April 30, 2017.
