Swedish Trelleborg Wheels Systems to fully move its wheel systems plant to Liepaja

Swedish company Trelleborg Wheels Systems has decided to fully move its wheel plants to Trelleborg Wheel Systems in Liepaja, Liepaja municipality’s representative Evita Engele told LETA.

"Liepaja is an important economic center with a good geographical locations and advantages in the logistics sector on which the city has worked much by investing and developing the port, the airport and the city’s infrastructure. Opening or expansion of every company is a success story for the city. The Liepaja Business Center that houses Trelleprok Wheel Systems Liepaja currently employs 85 residents and expansion will increase the number of workplaces," said Liepaja vice mayor Gunars Ansins.


Already last spring Trelleborg AB announced on its plans to expand its operation in Liepaja. Trelleborg Wheel Systems Liepaja then informed the board of Liepaja Special Economic Zone that by the end of 2017 the company plans to implement an upgrade project for EUR 965,000.


In 2015 Trelleborg Wheel Systems Liepaja generated EUR 8,461,154 in sales and earned EUR 242,658 in profit, according to Firmas.lv business database.
