Latvian drug wholesalers raise sales 11% in nine months

- Latvian drug wholesalers rose their sales by 11 % in the first nine months of this year to EUR 373.96 mln, according to the data of the State Agency of Medicines (ZVA) writes LETA.

In the third quarter of this year turnover of drug wholesalers reached EUR 121.07 mln, which is by 10% more from the respective period in 2015, but by 5 % less than in the second quarter of this year.

The Latvian drug wholesalers also exported EUR 27.7 mln worth of 685 various Latvian-registered medicines (including 292 government-funded medicines), which is about the same level as in the previous quarter.


In the third quarter of this year there were 80 licensed drug wholesalers in Latvia.

In the first nine months of last year drug wholesalers posted EUR 336.31 mln in sales, including EUR 109.76 mln in the third quarter of 2015.
