Swedish furniture maker IKEA could open its first store in Latvia in about two years in Stopini Region, as Latvian Investment and Development Agency's Director Andris Ozols told Latvian Television this morning, cites LETA.

"I believe it [IKEA store] could open in two years, on condition that we do our homework well. There is still much to do concerning both the road infrastructure, planning and, to begin with, accepting that we can pay part of the cost - both the state and the local governments in Riga and Stopini," said Ozols.

As reported, IKEA's only store in the Baltic countries at the moment opened in Vilnius in 2013.
