McDonald's fast food chain expands cooperation with Latvian Pure brand

McDonald's fast food chain in Latvia has expanded its cooperation with Puratos Latvia, the producer of Pure brand products, on using Pure fruit and berry sauces on icecream, McDonald's representatives reported LETA.

This summer McDonald's and Pure expanded their cooperation, introducing a new combination of flavors for icecream desserts. Pure is making cherry-chocolate and apricot-quince sauces for McDonald’s icecreams and cherry sauce for milkshakes.


McDonald's executive director in the Baltic states Valdimirs Janevskis said that sales show that McDonald's customers enjoy the new product. Sales of McDonald's icecreams in Latvia between May and August have reached EUR 40,858.

Premier Restaurants Latvia, running McDonald's chain, closed 2015 with a turnover of EUR 30.97 mln, and earned EUR 10.36 mln, according to Firmas.lv business database.


Founded in 1994, Premier Restaurants Latvia has a share capital of EUR 4,237,289. The company is fully owned by the Netherlands-registered Premier Capital B.V.

Berry and fruit processing company Puratos Latvia last year generated EUR 21.58 mln in sales, down 2.8% from 2014, and had a profit of EUR 661,877, down 16% year-on-year.


In August 2012 Pure Food changed its name to Puratos Latvia, developing Puratos group's business strategy launched in May 2011, when Belgian company Puratos acquired a 100% stake in Pure Food.


Puratos is an international group of companies making ingredients for bakeries, patisseries and chocolateries.
