New car registration jumps 18% in January-July in Latvia
During the seven-month period, the number of passenger car
registrations rose by 22.9% to 9,954 vehicles, while registration of new
commercial autos increased 11.1% to 1,212 vehicles.
The association's representatives said that this year's
largest corporate deal so far was the upgrading of the State Police's fleet,
which had allowed Opel Mokka to climb
to the third spot in the list of ten best selling autos.
In the seven months of this year the ten most popular car
brands included Nissan Qasqai (400
cars), VW Golf (312), Opel Mokka (297), VW Passat (275), Toyota Auris
(227), Toyota RAV4 (207), Toyota Avensis (193), VW Tiguan (181) and Skoda
Octavia (180), as well as Nissan
X-Trail (169).
