Avg milk purchase price in Estonia down 14.1% in July

The average purchase price of raw milk in Estonia was 200.43 euros per ton in July, 14.1% lower than in the same month a year ago, reports LETA/BNS.
Dairy companies purchased 61,000 tons of milk during the month, 3.5% less than in July 2015, data released by Statistics Estonia show.
Compared to June, the purchase price of milk decreased by 1 % and the amount purchased remained on the same level.
The production of drinking milk increased by 1.3% year-on-year to 8,000 tons. The output of cream, 2,200 tons, remained on the same level, and the output of soured milk went up 8.6% to 3,800 tons.
The output of butter increased by a quarter to 500 tons and the production of cheese decreased by 2.6% to 3,700 tons.
