Telecommunications operator Latvijas Mobilais Telefons (LMT) achieved a 13.3% increase in turnover in January-June as compared to the first half of 2015, the company informed LETA.

LMT turnover amounted to EUR 89 mln, while earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization totaled EUR 29 mln in January-June this year.

The company explains that the higher turnover is attributable to the increasing popularity of mobile Internet and sales of smartphones and smart devices.

All kinds of smart devices are becoming increasingly popular, and mobile technologies offer increasingly more opportunities. LMT is one of the first companies in the world to offer its clients television in 4G network, he stressed.

The number of LMT clients using mobile Internet has increased 31%.
