Sales of Estonian food industry decline 4.8% in 2015

Print versionEstonian food industry enterprises produced 1.42 billion euros worth of produce in 2015, which is 4.8% less than the previous year, informs LETA/BNS.

The companies' sales decreased 3% on year and total profit of the food industry declined 13% to 99 million euros, it can be seen from an overview drawn up by the Ministry of Rural Affairs.
Of the produce, 35% was exported. Sales revenue of the food industry decreased 3% on year to 1.8 billion euros in 2015.
The average number of companies operating in the food industry was 505, which is 80 more than in 2014.
