Rujienas Saldejums ice-cream maker posts 35% drop in turnover in 2015

BC, Riga, 29.04.2016.Print version
Latvia's Rujienas Saldejums ice-cream maker in 2015 generated EUR 916,489 in sales, which is by 35% less from a year ago, reports LETA, according to Firmas.lv business database.

The company's loss rose to EUR 74,527 compared to EUR 8,583 loss in 2014.

The company's owner Igors Miezis said that the drop in the financial results can be explained with unsuccessful work of its product distributor – Laima, and cooperation with this partner has been ceased. Since January, the company has a new cooperation partner – Pure Distribution owned by Peteris Zimants.

"We have never had such a poor year, and it is due to the previous distributor. Since Norwegians took over ownership of the company, probably, it is not interested in distributing our products any more. Thus, since January we are cooperating with Pure Distribution and positive results are obvious," said Miezis.

He said that thanks to these changes, Rujienas Saldejums might increase its sales this year and break into the black.

Rujienas Saldejums was founded in 2009 and has a share capital of EUR 507,431. The company employes 21 people.

Miezis is the sole owner of the company.
