Swedbank issued EUR 526 mln worth of loans to Latvian businesses in 2015

Print versionSwedbank in Latvia issued EUR 526 million worth of loans to businesses in 2015, which is 22% of EUR 94 million more than the previous year, informs LETA.

The most loans were issued to businesses operating in the agriculture and forestry sectors – EUR 98 million.
EUR 73 million were issued to businesses operating in the IT sector, while EUR 65 million worth of loans were issued to the transportation industry.
Swedbank is the largest bank in terms of assets in Latvia, and is also the country's largest loan provider.
Last year, Swedbank operated with EUR 121 million in profit.
2015 was also the first year since the economic crisis when the bank increase its loan portfolio, and in 2015 was by 0.1% larger than in 2014.
Swedbank issued a total of EUR 741 million in new loans last year.
Swedbank currently takes 22% of the Latvian loan market.
