The council of Tallinn on December 10th endorsed with votes 45 to six two regulations that will increase the advertising tax from the beginning of 2017 and ban public advertisements of alcohol, tobacco and payday loans in the city, reports LETA/BNS.

The draft according to which advertisements of alcohol, tobacco and express loans with an annual percentage rate of charge above 25 percent will be banned in the city's public space, like billboards, bus shelters and similar was approved by the city government at the beginning of November.

The ban does not concern interior ads, for instance in stores.
