The Tallinn city government has come up with a draft decision of the council by which the Tallinn Russian Museum will be reorganized into a unit within the structure of the Tallinn City Museum as of January 1, 2016, informs LETA/BNS.

Deputy Mayor Mihhail Kolvart said reorganization of the museum's work was necessary for the fulfilment of the goals set for the museum upon its establishment, modernization of the museum's activities and better organization of its work, spokespeople for the city government said.

In addition the museum will be able to use all the support services available within the structure of the City Museum. The fact that the City Museum has joined the public online portal of Estonian museums, MuIS, will enable to obtain an overview of the collections of the museum.

The Russian Museum opened at the address Pikk 29a in Tallinn in October 2012. Since the museum's inception 11 exhibitions have been organized there.
